Making Magic

I’m totally in the business of figuring out how to manifest what I want now. I’m definitely no expert here but I heard it works so I’m determined to try it out. My research brought me to this article: 7 Steps to Manifest Anything You Want

In summery the steps are:

“1.Get clear on what you want.
2.Ask the universe for it.
3.Take action (help the universe make it happen).
4.Trust the process.
5.Acknowledge what is being sent to you along the way.
6.Increase your vibration.
7.Clear all resistance”

It’s nice to notice that I can put a check on the first three steps already: I clarified exactly what I want, I’ve been asking the universe for it and I’ve been working as hard as I can towards my goal. The fourth step is where I stumble: trust the process? I’m sure you’ve heard of this phrase before. I certainly have but I find that saying it to myself is not enough and besides, what does it mean anyway? So the article says I need to say: ““I’m getting closer and closer to my goals every day. The universe has my back and it’s awesome”.

I find that my mind really likes the idea that the universe has my back. What a huge relief is this thought. I’m very happy to think about it and yet as soon as I try to put my mind in that direction the resistance comes up, mainly in the shape of worrying, obsessing and doubting. I don’t want to put my attention on the latter because I know it goes against step 6: “increase your vibration” but negativity is very sneaky and insidious. It comes uninvited, which means one thing only: it is an acquired belief, a habit.

This concept of trusting the universe is a relatively new idea in my life. I’ve probably spent more  years not knowing about it than knowing. It would probably have made a world of difference if it was introduced to me earlier on but unfortunately It was not. If anything, the surrounding probably reflected quite the opposite: you have to be constantly on the lookout for the problems and there’s never any help.

Keeping this fact in mind can make it easier for me to have self compassion when the resistance comes up. I can take a deep breath, know that there’s a really good reason why I’m resisting and go back to my mantra: trust the process!

One success that I would like to share that happened just now was talking to my listening partner about how my life is so different now that I trust the universe, as if this is my new reality at all times. It made me laugh several times saying things like: “worry? what is worry? what do you do with it?” “I have so much free time now that I know everything is taken care of”. I know laughter is a great way to discharge the heavy tension that a life full of worrying entails so I’m happy that I just got myself a little more free disc space in my brain.

The other thing I’m told to do in the article is to acknowledge when the universe is giving me gifts on the way to attaining my goals.  I’m noticing, as I write these words  that learning how to trust the universe in and of itself is a huge gift. As I said, I’m determined to get good at it so I would appreciate it if you could share with me any of your tricks on how to manifest what you want or, assuming I’m not the only one who struggles here, how you get yourself to trust the universe.
