When you're struggling to find satisfaction in life

If you’re struggling with finding satisfaction in life, it might be a sign that you’re lacking meaning.

Here are a few ways you can change that:

  1. Notice other people doing acts of kindness. Pause and stay with the feeling it gives you

  2. Listen to a piece of music that inspires you. Pause and notice how it feels in your body.

  3. Join a group activity that’s about bringing hearts, minds and bodies together like dancing or going to a protest. Pause and savor the feeling it creates in your body.

  4. Take a few minutes to look at something man-made with interesting patterns as in the visual arts or in everyday design. Pause and put what you’re seeing in your body.  

  5. Spend time in nature and allow yourself to connect to anything in it that inspires awe in you. Pause and let it resonate in your cells. 

  6. Listen or read about some important idea or value that interests you and pause to notice how it feels in your body to realize that you care about an issue that is bigger than you. 

  7. Engage in any mindfulness practice that allows you to contemplate the fact that you’re part of this incredible universe. Pay particular attention to noticing how it feels in your body in those moments when time slows down and you’re able to quiet down the chatter.
